Beautiful hand block printed 100% cotton pleated skirt.

This piece was lovingly handmade by the women from rural village in India as a part of our Women Empowerment Project.

The women that have made this skirt live in the place with a zero access for education or any career opportunities. They also do not experience much appreciation or acknowledgment from their families or the loved ones.

This is why every year we travel to them to share our knowledge, give them love and appreciation and support them financially.

Inspired by the Rajasthani tribal women's wear this long and elegant skirt combines the hand-block printing traditions of India with a contemporary fashion.

Thank you for appreciating this piece. Not only it will be a great addition to any bohemian wardrobe, it also supports the beautiful cause of helping and empowering women with lesser opportunities, as well as preserving and keeping their traditions alive.

About 4 meters of fabric is required to make one of these skirts. The fabric is folded in the pleats and then sewn together to create the elegant and ruffled look. Only 6 skirts were made from this particular fabric.

glorka is a cruelty-free & sweat-shop free ethical production.

This dress is a part of the project glorka and Ammachi Labs have been working together since 2018, empowering women to become more independent, self-reliant and simply happier...

Ammachi Labs is a part of humanitarian organization 'Embracing The World' founded by Amma, Mata Amritanandamayi. Ammachi Labs have been offering training programs to local women from various rural villages around India for many years now. The work they do is just incredible.

In 2018 we partnered up with Ammachi Labs, and together we have been coming to the villages to teach women how to make clothes. After spending some time on learning and practicing we then co-create collections of beautiful bohemian dresses and kaftans. This year's collection is called 'Bohemian India'.
